Died – Wheeler – At her home five miles east of Pleasanton, on Monday, March 25,
at 4 o’clock a.m. Mrs. Jane M. Wheeler, of pneumonia in the 55th year of her
age.
Deceased was one of our best citizens. She had been a resident of Potosi
township for eight years. She was a devout Christian, beloved by all her
neighbors and acquaintances, a kind mother and true wife. She had been sick
several weeks, but was not thought to be in critical condition until a few hours
before her demise. She leaves a husband, who is dangerously ill, five children,
one sister and three brothers to mourn the loss. The funeral was preached at
the M.E. church in this city last Tuesday at 2:00 o’clock pm by Rev. T.
Stephenson, after which the remains were interred in the Pleasanton cemetery.
