MISS BROWN DEAD
Miss Emma Brown, for many years an estimable citizen of Potosi Township died December 30 at the home of her niece, Mrs. A. F. Babcock, and family in Lawrence. She had been an invalid at the Babcock home several years. Friday morning the remains were brought to this place accompanied by Mrs. Babcock and daughters, Misses Mildred and Marjorie, and Miss Maud Ellsworth. At 2:30 that afternoon funeral services were held at the home of her niece, Mrs. J. F. Eby, conducted by Rev. Leo Howard, pastor of the First M.E. Church of which organization deceased had been a devout member many years. The remains were then taken to the Pleasanton cemetery and all that was mortal of this good woman was tenderly laid to rest by the side of her parents and other dear ones who preceded her.
Emma Brown was born in Anderson Ind., February 10, 1850; died in Lawrence, Kans., December 29, 1932, age 82 years, 10 months and 19 days. In 1869 she moved with her parents from Indiana to Kansas, locating near this place where she resided until about five years ago when she went to Lawrence to live with her niece, Mrs. A. Babcock. She is survived by three nieces, Mesdames J. F. Eby of this place, W. A. Sweet of Port Angelus, Wash., and Mrs. A. F. Babcock and families.
