MRS. JESSIE BARRICK DEAD Wife of John Barrick Passes Away at Hospital in Osawatomie. Mrs. Jessie Barrick, wife of John Barrick, pioneer resident of Fort Scott, passed away at the State Hospital at Osawatomie at 1:30 this morning. Mrs. Barrick had been confined to the hospital for the past four months, following a two-year duration of circimona. Jessie Cox was born in Linn county, near Mound City on December 31, 1864, and would have been 70 years of age this month. She grew to young womanhood near Mound City and was united in marriage to Mr. John Barrick in April of 1881 at Pleasanton. Besides her husband she is survived by a son Verne Barrick of the home, 23 Humboldt avenue, North Fort Scott, and the following sisters, Mrs. Nettie McQuitty of Fort Scott; Margaret Wilmer, Hazel Davenport, Anna Barnhill, all of Los Angeles, Calif. Mrs. Barrick had been a resident of Fort Scott for the past 46 years, all of this time residing at the home address, 23 Humboldt. She was a devoted wife and mother and devoted to her home, and a good neighbor. She attended the Christian church. The funeral services will be conducted by Rev. J. R. Babb from the Konantz chapel, the hour to be announced later upon receiving answers to messages sent to relatives. Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery.
