MINNIE BABCOCK RITES SATURDAY Funeral services for Minnie Babcock, 83, who died April 4, in the Una Lee Nursing home, Jackson, Michigan, were held at the Torneden Chapel in Pleasanton, Saturday afternoon at one o'clock. The rites were conducted by Rev. Jerald Huntsinger, and music was furnished by Mrs. Shirley Blevins, pianist. Pallbearers were Jess Trigg, John Fletcher, Milton James, Clayton Osborn, Lester Patterson and Donald Parker. Burial was in the family lot at the Pleasanton cemetery. Mrs. Babcock was born near Pleasanton on September 1, 1879, the youngest daughter of Ellen and Joseph Barrick. She was united in marriage to Arthur F. Babcock, April 10, 1907. To the union twin daughters were born, Mrs. Mildred Bartlett __?__ and Mrs. Marjorie Shahan of Jackson, Michigan. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Eugene and Elizabeth Shahan, New York City and Mrs. Deanna Evans and David Bartlett of Denver. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Gertie Eby and Mrs. Maggie Sweatt, and her husband Arthur F. Babcock. The Babcocks lived in Pleasanton many years, while Mr. Babcock was a Frisco conductor. Upon his retirement they moved to Lawrence, Kansas.
