Obituary of MARY DOWNEY

Mrs. Mary DOWNEY (colored) wife of G.P. Downey, aged 45 years, died at the residence of her brother-in-law, D. Downey, four miles northeast of Pleasanton, on Friday, Aug. 5, 1887. She was afflicted with dropsy. Her husband was working at his trade in El Dorado at the time, and was immediately telegraphed. The remains were conveyed to Mound City on Saturday and interred in the Mound City cemetery.
